I'm starting a new and exciting project that I thought would be a great idea to share with you guys! I am starting a music marketing project, my group and I were assigned the genre country. This is a genre that I am not as familiar with but I am open to learning more and opening my eyes to other genres. To start off the project, we first had to research information about rock, such as the different artists, industries, etc. We decided on researching two industries which were Universal Music Group Nashville and Warner Records- Warner Music Nashville, which is where many famous country artists produce their music. We were able to research very famous artists, like Carrie Underwood and Blake Shelton!
Continuing our project, my group and I were given the option of four different country songs to choose from, we decided to go with Need You Now by Lady A. As we are creating a brand new image of our own artist, this song will be representing their first release. Our first step is to create a platform and social media for this new artist, Daisey, such as Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, etc. We decided to go with social media that aims more towards the target audience of teenagers and young adults. As the song we chose was based on a breakup, 'needing them back' the music video that we are making will visualize a story about a breakup. These platforms will be the best way of releasing and promoting our new artist, to get people's attention.
To launch our artist, we must be prepared to put out all the information that is needed for further research from our audience that might be done. After our artist drops this song, merchandise would be a great addition to their image for those that become fans of the music. Doing research on the genre of the country will prepare us much more when we release our new artist, as we will be well educated on how the country music industry works. As we go on with this journey we will obviously be critiquing a couple of details as we get deeper into our project. Being able to bring you guys along this journey is a great experience and I can't wait to share how everything goes from here!
